I love going to an outdoor summer concert and used this as an inspiration for this painting. And I also like the idea of singing a beautiful serenade to someone special. So I put the ideas of the open air concert and the serenade together to make this painting. I wanted dramatic colors that would make it visually striking so I chose the bright red bird singing to a black and white zebra. During the process of painting I thought about creatures that birds would not fear and allow close to them. I also wanted to include the endangered tiger in this safe, open and peaceful environment.
36"x 48" oil painting on canvas.
