Awhile back I was in the wilderness gazing up at the Milky Way. It became so over whelming to me that I just couldn’t comprehend its’ vastness. My comfort level dropped and I felt very small. I thought of the bald eagles I had seen on Vancouver Island. Birds are the last living descendants of dinosaurs and I imagined the power and exhilaration of the bald eagle as he soared with the stars and his spirited courage in the approaching blue hour of twilight. Magnificent, I thought. I want to capture this on canvas.
