WHY I CREATE
Creating visuals has always been my form of communication. While others write their thoughts, I paint my thoughts. It’s the way I bring my thoughts and stories into a physical form. The more detailed the artwork, the stronger the story becomes for me. Less detail is a quicker communication but leaves more to my imagination. I enjoy both quicker and slower, more thoughtful forms of communications in my paintings.
HOW I CREATE
I usually start with one color or shape that has some emotional effect on me. For instance, orange makes me feel hope for tomorrow and that might translate into a brilliant sunset. With time and thought I’ll build on this idea of color and hope.
MORE THOUGHTS ON CREATING
When I use pigments, oil, cotton, and wood to create my art, it becomes a collaboration with elements from the earth. I am grateful for this experience and don't take it for granted. It's an adventure that enriches my creativity.
